Professional wrestling legend Eddie Guerrero is remembered as one of the greatest in the sport, entertaining fans in both the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Unfortunately, it was life was tragically cut short back in 2005.
Recently, Matt Hardy would hold a special edition of his “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast to pay tribute to the late, great icon, and Hardy was very positive when talking about “Latino Heat.” Also, during the podcast, Hardy would make a comparison between Guerrero and of wrestling’s top stars today.
Matt Hardy: Bryan Danielson Reminds Me A Lot Of Eddie Guerrero
During the podcast, Matt Hardy was questioned by a fan about who he thought out of all of the wrestlers today most reminded him of Eddie Guerrero.
“Bryan Danielson, maybe. I feel like he is a great wrestler, a technical wrestler, and that’s kind of what he’s known for. But also, he’ll do the deal where he runs and backflips, and he has these athletic moves he can do too.”
Matt Hardy also shared other similarities that he sees between Eddie Guerrero and Bryan Danielson.
“I could also see Bryan being someone, if the crowd is going in a different direction, kind of changing it up too.”
Previously, Matt Hardy spoke about how Guerrero mastered the technique of being able to read the crowd and switch things up when it was necessary, riding off of their reactions. Hardy said that was one of the best skills that Guerrero possessed during his time in professional wrestling.
According to a lot of fans and wrestling journalists, Guerrero arguably passed away at the peak of his career in 2005, with conversations leading to a possible WrestleMania 22 match between him and Shawn Michaels, a wrestler who also has close ties with Bryan Danielson. Unfortunately, the dream bout would never happen.
