Matt Hardy has commented on his entry in the prestigious PWI 500 and says he’s more worried about the numbers in his bank account.
The PWI 500 is the annual list that counts down the 500 top wrestling stars of the year. For 2022, Unified WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns topped the list for the second time in his career with Kazuchika Okada from NJPW taking the second spot. CM Punk returned to the list for the first time in almost a decade, taking the number three slot.
One AEW star not too concerned about his own entry on the list is the veteran star, Matt Hardy. Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the former WWE Superstar explained why the money on his paycheck means more than his number 180 PWI 500 entry:
“My PWI 500 ranking isn’t the number I’m worried about, the number I’m worried about is the number that is on my paycheck. That’s the only number I’m really concerned about, you know.”
“So yeah, that’s super cool, and I’m not gonna lie. I mean, the very first time, the first couple of times we were in the PWI 500. It was cool and nice. But at the end of the day, the thing I am most concerned with when it comes to numbers is not my PWI ranking. It is my bank account and the number on my paycheck every week or every other week.”
