Following their recent success at NXT Roadblock, Matt and Jeff Hardy’s future in WWE remains uncertain, with Matt Hardy confirming their time in NXT has come to an end, at least for now.
The Hardys scored a major victory over Nathan Frazer and Axiom, collectively known as Fraxiom, in a tag team clash that left both teams eager for a rematch. However, fans may have to wait, as Matt revealed on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast that their stint in NXT is currently over.
“Yes. I do think we would want to run it back. As of right now, our little run with NXT is wrapped. We do have some stuff on our schedule to do with WWE a little later on down the road. Nothing specifically with NXT yet, but…”
Hardy stated. Pressed by co-host Jon Alba to clarify their plans, Hardy remained vague.
“Just stuff, I’m going to leave it at that right now. We have stuff lined up with WWE.”
While their immediate future remains unclear, Hardy expressed interest in revisiting the Fraxiom rivalry and raised the possibility of a title opportunity.
“But I would love to run it back, especially when we gave our initial thoughts following the match. The first thing post-match is like, hey, these guys got a shot at the TNA Tag Team Titles and we were able to retain our titles, we prevailed. But does this now earn us a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships? That is a tag team title that The Hardys do not have on their résumé, and The Hardys would like to have that on their résumé. I think there’s maybe a selling point there, too.”
With the door open for future appearances, fans will have to wait and see what’s next for The Hardy Boyz.
