Former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona has revealed the unusual test message he recently sent Vince McMahon as he celebrated an anniversary in his career.
On April 15th, 2020 Matt Cardona’s time in WWE as Zack Ryder came to an end as he was released along with a host of other stars from his contract.
Since then, Cardona has re-invented himself in the wrestling business as a regular with IMPACT Wrestling and appearing on a few occasions for AEW. It is on the independent scene, however, where Cardona has garnered the most attention, particularly with GCW, where he captured the GCW Championship by defeating deathmatch king Nick Gage.
Taking to social media Cardona addressed his WWE exit calling it one of the best things that ever happened to him:
“2 years ago…April 15, 2020…I was released by WWE. It needed to happen. It was one of the best things that ever happened in my career and in my life. These past 2 years have been incredible. My goal was never to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove my fans and myself right…and I have. And I will continue to do so. I’m still here and I’m Alwayz Ready!”
Matt Cardona is the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, the IMPACT Digital Media Champion, as well as holding his own Internet Title and belts with ASW, NYWC, and two with AIW, making him a modern-day belt collector.
“And speaking of Ultimo [Dragon], I recreated that photo and sent it to Vince McMahon. Well, by the time this comes out, I did.”
