Matt Cardona Attacks Nick Gage While Disguised As Jon Moxley

Matt Cardona

In one of the most shocking angles the wrestling world will witness this year, the culmination of Nick Gage calling out “Zack Ryder” saw the deathmatch legend seemingly confronted by a masked Jon Moxley – who actually turned out to be Matt Cardona!

Nick Gage has made enemies of two likely future opponents in Matt Cardona and Jon Moxley over the past few months. Having brawled at GCW Draft Day just last month, there was clearly some underlying bad blood and unfinished business between former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Nick Gage.

While the latter had hoped for the culmination of his of words with Matt Cardona at the Tournament of Survival last night when he called out “Zack Ryder” in the middle of the ring, it was GCW’s Zombie Walk which saw a hooded figure attack Nick Gage after swaying back and forth like Jon Moxley and hitting the Paradigm Shift – before a shocking unmasking revealed Matt Cardona had stepped up to the challenge. Cardona then held the GCW Title aloft to a chorus of boos.

Meanwhile, Jon Moxley has also found himself tethered back to Nick Gage, breaking free of the confines of conventionality by competing in AEW, NJPW, and at Bloodsport before turning up at GCW in April at rSpring Break to drop Gage with a Paradigm Shift onto some light tubes before returning at Draft Day in Las Vegas after Nick Gage had successfully defended his GCW World Title against AJ Gray with the brawl continuing after the show went off air.

No match between Cardona and Gage nor Moxley and Gage has been made official, but GCW are promoting their Homecoming Weekend to take place on the 24th and 25th of July in Atlantic City.
