A top NXT star could be set for a spell on the side-lines after their match came to an early end at the most recent set of tapings.
On September 14th WWE taped two episodes of NXT at the Performance Center in Orlando. However, it appears that the tapings didn’t quite go off without a hitch.
According to WrestlingNewsCo, Tony D’Angelo suffered an injury which brought his match to a premature end. The star appeared to go down with a knee injury and was seen being checked over by trainers.
At time of writing there’s no word on the severity of the injury, or whether D’Angelo will miss any time.
Since arriving in NXT a year ago Tony D’Angelo has featured heavily on the show feuding with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne (now known as Butch) and more recently Legado Del Fantasma.
D’Angelo had been feuding with Cameron Grimes in the lead up to the tapings.
On the other side of the coin, the first set of tapings saw the return of Ilja Dragunov. The star had been out of action since early July when he was forced to relinquish the NXT United Kingdom Championship. Dragunov appeared at the end of the first taping to confront NXT Champion Bron Breakker and JD McDonagh.
