Massive Update On WWE Draft

WWE Draft 2025, Drew McIntyre, LA Knight

The WWE Draft was once an exciting part of its flagship shows, as the events that unfolded during the week on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown had a significant impact in the following months. These days, however, the effect has slightly reduced.

This is because WWE often relaxes the brand split to its convenience. Sometimes, wrestlers switch brands to move on, and that’s that. Earlier this year, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest moved to SmackDown. Meanwhile, to evidently ignite a lengthy program with Seth Rollins after Money in the Bank in June, LA Knight quietly switched brands. He is now on RAW, gunning for the World Heavyweight Championship.

McIntyre and Knight’s brand switch has already infused some fresh angles on WWE TV, with both men entering the World Title picture on their respective brands. So, does WWE need a draft this year? The company possibly still thinks so.

WWE Draft Expected To Happen In Late 2025

According to the usually reliable wrestling insider, X/Twitter user BoozerRasslin, WWE will be doing a Draft this year. However, an exact date or month was not provided. This was revealed in a response to a fan, who feels the Friday night show needed some saving.

WWE Draft 2025, Friday Night SmackDown, Monday Night RAW

On SmackDown, Drew McIntyre emerged as the next challenger to the WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare’s program with John Cena has officially ended, with the former regaining the belt in SummerSlam Night 2’s main event.

Meanwhile, John Cena and Logan Paul will lock horns at WWE’s next PLE, Clash in Paris, scheduled for August 31. This program was also established on Friday Night SmackDown.

Also in Paris, the red brand will present a huge Fatal 4-Way Match, as World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will defend his newly won belt against CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight.
