Massive Update On TNA’s New TV Network Deal; AEW In Trouble?

New Details Emerge On Why TNA & AEW's Partnership Ended

A latest update has popped up on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s new TV deal.

Earlier today, a report emerged about WWE possibly trying to finish AEW as its main competitor. In a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted that World Wrestling Entertainment wanted Total Nonstop Action Wrestling to become the “other promotion” in the business, as they could be controlled, something All Elite Wrestling could not be.

Now, Jon Alba of SI Wrestling has noted that many sources close to him have confirmed that there have been discussions about TNA Wrestling moving to a WWE-associated network. The Nashville-based promotion was also open to moving to Wednesday nights from Thursday, to go head-to-head with Dynamite.

The sources also mentioned CW Network’s ‘legitimate’ interest and several WWE stakeholders’ interest in getting Total Nonstop Action Wrestling to be a part of that network. Although it is not clear how far these discussions had progressed. The CW Network currently broadcasts NXT on Tuesday nights at 8 pm ET.

Carlos Silva has acknowledged the ongoing TNA media rights discussion and claimed that more meetings were scheduled for later this month. Interestingly, Silva also did not deny the rumors of clashing directly with AEW. Currently, Family Law and Good Cop/Bad Cop air in the 8 p.m. through 10 p.m. ET timeslots on The CW against AEW Dynamite.

Numerous sources suggested that WWE possesses some influence regarding Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s media rights negotiations with prospective partners. However, Silva stated that World Wrestling Entertainment’s involvement with TNA, presently, was limited to talent exchange, as observed by viewers throughout 2025. Speaking on The Takedown on SI, Silva commented that the Nashville-based promotion’s decisions were based on the company’s best interests, rather than competitive concerns with AEW.

TNA President Carlos Silva Praises Ex-WWE Star

Recently, while speaking to MuscleManMalcolm on Muscle Memory, TNA President Carlos Silva heaped praise on ex-WWE and current TNA star, AJ Francis, following his impressive Slammiversary performance.

Yeah, AJ [Francis] has got a big personality. He’s got a big presence. He’s an amazing athlete; if you see the things that he’s done on the big field with the NFL, and now he’s on the big field in the TNA wrestling ring. He’s great to be around, like AJ; he brings it. Again, big smiles, big energy. He’s always on, and that’s what he showed at Slammiversary. I mean, the stuff that happened during the Ladder Match was insane.”
