Massive Tax Credit Hints At Future AEW Show

Massive Tax Credit Hints At Future AEW Show

A recent filing may have alluded to a big AEW event being hosted in the near future.

On July 29th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and The Ohio Department of Development declared that $36.7 million in tax credits would be distributed across multiple projects in the entertainment industry such as feature films, TV series and Broadway productions. From the $36.7 million, All Elite Wrestling has been given $1.275 million listed as “AEW 2024-2025 Productions, Cleveland/TBD.” While not confirmed, it is expected that this will be in relation to a 2025 event as all remaining 2024 pay-per-view dates and locations have already been announced by the promotion.

It should be noted that a Collision taping has already been booked for Dayton, Ohio on September 12th and it is unknown whether or not this event is a part of the financial package.

This is not the first time that the state of Ohio has given a lucrative sum of money to a wrestling promotion. Back in March, WWE was given approximately $1.7 million from the state for an upcoming event, which was eventually announced as SummerSlam and will take place in the Cleveland Brown’s Stadium on August 3rd.

AEW Gears Up For Wembley Stadium Return

All Elite Wrestling is once again preparing to host its biggest show of the year with All In on August 25th, which will air live from Wembley Stadium in London, England. With less than a month to go before the big day, the promotion has already announced multiple title matches for the show along with the main event. At San Diego Comic-Con, the latest AEW All In match was confirmed.
