Could WWE really be about to drop Charlotte Flair into the women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match?
At time of writing, Charlotte Flair’s only involvement in the London, England, SmackDown/Money In The Bank double-header was a Women’s Championship match with Asuka on the June 30th edition of the blue brand.
However, a new report has suggested there’s been a pitch for her to compete in the women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match at the expense of Zelina Vega. The report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, via PWInsider Elite, noted that the pitch had been “doing the rounds,” but there was no word on whether it would actually be put into effect.
Johnson added that there was nothing filmed during the SmackDown taping to set up the angle.
WWE’s booking of Money In The Bank has already drawn criticism from some sections of the fanbase with a number of fans less than impressed at Logan Paul being added to the men’s Ladder Match after the qualifying matches. In the eyes of some fans, this made the qualifiers seem pointless. Paul’s addition to the men’s match means there will be seven participants, while there will be six in the women’s match.
Charlotte Flair Vs. Asuka Descends Into Chaos
On the June 30th episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair attempted to win her 15th Women’s Championship, however, things didn’t go quite to plan. During the match which saw Bianca Belair sitting in the front row after being banned from sitting ringside, Flair kicked the former champion in the head after Asuka ducked.
A raging Belair then jumped the barrier and brawled with both Flair and Asuka, ending the segment standing tall over both women.
