New details have been provided in regard to WWE NXT’s newest championship.
At Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania weekend, General Manager Ava announced that the women’s division would have another title to fight for as the Women’s North American Championship would be introduced later in the year. On the April 30th episode of NXT, more information was provided.
Ava announced that the inaugural champion would be crowned at the upcoming Battleground Premium Live Event and would be contested in a ladder match. The participants in the match would be determined first in a combine to narrow the field down to 12 competitors.
A series of qualifying matches would then take place so that 6 competitors would advance to the title match. Although no competitors have been officially announced, Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, Arianna Grace and Michin were all a part of the segment.
At TakeOver New Orleans in 2018, the first-ever Men’s North American Champion was also determined in a six-pack ladder match. Adam Cole won the critically acclaimed bout.
