Massive! Dakota Kai Breaks Silence On In-Ring Future 129 Days After WWE Release

Former WWE Superstar, Dakota Kai.

Dakota Kai broke her silence to give an update about her wrestling future a few months after her WWE release.

The 37-year-old New Zealander was one of the several wrestlers who were let go by the Stamford-based promotion on May 2, 2025, 129 days ago. Other names included Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, Cora Jade, Gigi Dolin, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, and the Gallus faction (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang), among others.

During a recent Twitch stream, King Kota read a comment from a user who tagged her as the “biggest pro wrestling Twitch streamer, which she found flattering. The New Zealander responded that she missed wrestling but made it clear that she is currently enjoying her time off.

I miss wrestling you guys. We’re gonna get back into it. It’s just one of those things where it’s been nice to have a little bit of a break. I’ve been doing it for a long time, longer than the last seven years I was with WWE, you know what I mean? So it is nice to take a step back and all but I really do miss it,” Kai revealed. Kai recently suffered a concussion on January 27, and her last WWE match was on Main Event when she defeated Ivy Nile. She was a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Iyo Sky and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Raquel Rodriguez (fka Raquel Gonzalez at that time).

Karl Fredericks Specifically Asked For His WWE Release

Karl Fredericks (fka Eddy Thorpe) was also one of many people who were released by WWE on May 2, 2025, along with his real-life partner, Dakota Kai.

On X (Twitter), the 35-year-old admitted he personally requested to be let go by the Stamford-based promotion so that he could do something meaningful in his life.

When he was “Eddy Thorpe”, Fredericks’ biggest moments in his two-year WWE run were challenging Trick Williams for the NXT Championship and having a series of confrontations with Hall of Famer and NXT head man Shawn Michaels.
