Mark Henry has lavished praise on Dr. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa following their main event ‘Unsanctioned Lights Out’ match on AEW Dynamite.
The WWE Hall Of Famer was speaking on the Busted Open Radio show when he shared his thoughts on the match itself and the competitors.
“Britt Baker has really come into her own. Whatever lit the fire under Thunder Rosa about eight months ago, thank God for it. Right before [Rosa] came to AEW, she started this roll of just killing it man. On [NWA] Power killing it. When the pandemic thing happened she started – still working – doing the Mission Pro Wrestling stuff, she was killing it on that.”
Mission Pro Wrestling is an all-female wrestling company based in Texas that is owned by Thunder Rosa. The company’s first show was held in October 2019. At their latest show, Thunder Rosa teamed up with her Twisted Sisterz partner Holidead to compete in tag-team action.
Mark Henry continued:
“I watched the match between [Rosa] and Jazz. […] Thunder Rosa and Jazz had a match that reminded me of this match with Britt Baker. [The Unsanctioned Lights Out match] was so good, I was watching it and I was by myself. I was looking around like ‘is anybody seeing this?’ I was so impressed man. And then on top of that the finish – when the tacks came out and going through tables.”
“They didn’t go through tables like how I had seen women go through tables in the past. They were THROWN through the tables. Not falling on them, it was aggressive.”
Dr. Britt Baker recently discussed the match with Renee Paquette on her Oral Sessions podcast. Baker revealed she went to someone with a lot of experience in these types of matches for advice.
