Mark Henry is full of praise for one WWE NXT star.
Speaking on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry discussed the upcoming NXT Iron Survivor Challenge and explained why he’d love to see second-generation star Lexis King (real name Brian Pillman Jr.) come out victorious.
“I love the energy that Lexis King is getting. He makes you want to see him get beat, you see the manipulation, he gets it. It’s just a matter of getting everybody to believe that you got it and that’s the one weakness I feel that he has.” (h/t WrestlingInc)
King is set to compete in a qualifying match on the December 3rd episode of NXT, facing off against Eddy Thorpe, Cedric Alexander, and Axiom. The winner of the match will go on to compete in the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline on December 7th.
When Did Mark Henry Leave AEW?
After reports that his contract was coming to an end, Mark Henry confirmed on May 27th that his AEW deal would be up on May 28th and that he would not be seeking renewal. Henry is now working as booker for All Caribbean Wrestling.
Henry spoke about his decision to leave All Elite Wrestling on a May episode of Busted Open, saying:
“I am not going to be renewing my deal, I think that it’s a mutual thing if I can’t dedicate 100% of myself then it’s only fair for both parties to end the relationship on a positive note. Like I said it’s been nothing but positive, I’ve done my best to help as many people as I could.
There were still some things that I wanted to help with that I didn’t get to finish but those people have my phone number and anytime that they need to call me I’m available for them. I am not leaving pro wrestling, what I’m saying is I’m going to take some time to work on some projects and I’m going to come back again in full force because that’s what I do.”
