Mark Henry may not be done with the squared circle.
“The World’s Strongest Man” just might be in store for one more “World’s Strongest Slam” according to Henry. The WWEHall of Famer spoke with Chris Van Vliet recently and was asked who he’d like to square up against if he were to step in between the ropes one last time.
“You know what I’ve thought about it, and every time I think about it, I think who? Who would be the person? And I guess you could put up a poll someday and say, Who would you like to see Mark Henry have his last match against? You better do it fast, because every day I wake up, I’m thinking I might have to just go put that to bed. [Would you be open to doing it in AEW?] You know what, I have to think about it and I have to start training and see how my body feels, I haven’t took a bump in years. I’d be open though, to a conversation.”
Mark Henry Has Had Injuries To Deal With
While Mark Henry always looks in great shape, he has had a problem that has caused him to pause to get back in the ring once more. Henry said the following on Busted Open Radio back in August.
“I got nerve damage is why I don’t wrestle, in my back, in my [sacroiliac (SI) joint] … It will just go out, and I’ll be on the ground, and there have been times where I do too much at AEW, and I have to take a wheelchair through the airport, and it sucks because I’m prideful, and I hate it when I can’t walk through the airport. Feels like my leg is on fire. I’m not saying for a pity party for me; I’m saying that Darren Droszdov is in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, paralyzed from the chest down.”
Henry last stepped in the ring five years ago when he was one of the many participants in WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 in Saudi Arabia.
