Mark Henry – “Jade Cargill Is Going To Be A Superstar”

Jade Cargill

“Jade Cargill is going to be a superstar.” The words of WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator, coach, mentor and scout Mark Henry.

Cargill made an instant impact on AEW Dynamite in November where she interrupted Cody Rhodes to announce the impending arrival of Shaquille O’Neal. The star later made her in-ring debut alongside the NBA legend, helping her team to victory. In fact, Cargill is yet to taste defeat in an AEW ring.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Battleground Podcast, Mark Henry spoke highly of Cargill, who he helps train and mentor, saying that she’s going to be a star. Henry also revealed how they may have tried to push her training along too quickly, before commenting that people will be talking about Cargill the way they talk about Kenny Omega in just three years time.

“Jade is going to be a superstar,” Henry says. “ I’ve told her recently, I said, ‘You’re me. You are a star, you are a celebrity.”

“Without a doubt, she will do all of it, but she’s going to have to get to the point where she can wake up at 4 in the morning and if somebody grabs her in a headlock, she’ll know exactly what to do. In this industry, there is a lot to learn and if you want to learn it at a good clip but you don’t want to learn so fast that you get injured and that’s kind of the thing. She has tried to do things she probably shouldn’t be doing yet and she has gotten injured. So we’re going to slow down, work on the fundamentals, and let her evolve. It took me three years and she’s been in it less than one. So the Jade Cargill that we’re going to get in 3 years is going to be one of the main event players on the show. She is already ‘must-see TV,’ but we’re going to be talking about her like we talked about Kenny Omega in 3 years.”

As well as praise from within her own camp, Jade Cargill has also caught the eye of Paul Wight. After arriving in AEW earlier in 2021, Wight was asked who had impressed him most.

The man formerly known as The Big Show lavished praise Cargill, commenting on her athletic ability and her presence.

Cargill was most recently in action on the June 6th edition of Dark Elevation where she defeated Robyn Renegade.
