‘The Glamour’ is no longer Mariah May.
Last week, on the 3rd June episode of NXT, the former AEW Women’s Champion made her long-awaited return. After a hiatus of several months, May made her presence felt on NXT when she interrupted new champion Jacy Jayne’s title win celebration.
While she appeared on a podium amongst the crowd, May retained her trademark attire and look, WWE intentionally shied away from revealing her name. Now, almost a week later, on the 10th June episode of NXT, Mariah May’s new name was revealed as ‘Blake Monroe’ through a vignette.
No sooner had the announcement become official, May changed her X(Twitter) ID to ‘Blake Monroe’ and shared posts related to her new character. As of this writing, she has not yet made an official public appearance as Monroe, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the former AEW star’s performance.
Just minutes before the official announcement on the 10th June episode of NXT, Fightful Select had also confirmed the news.
Jacy Jayne Recently Mistook Mariah May For Tiffany Stratton
Following May’s debut last week, she seemingly confused NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne for a bit. Speaking Busted Open,Jacy Jayne revealed how she had confused Mariah May for Tiffany Stratton.
“So at first, I thought it was Tiffany (Stratton). I was like, oh my God! Tiffany’s here. But, then I was like, okay. Well, she doesn’t have a title. Can’t be Tiffany. But I’m excited. I welcome anybody to our division. Let’s see if you can hang with our division and it’s just another shot for me to show everyone that I’m better.”
