Mariah May Makes Shocking WWE NXT Debut; Goes After Current Champion

Mariah May has arrived in WWE NXT.

Last seen losing to Toni Storm on the Revolution 2025 PPV on 9th March, 2025, the promising British wrestler has been off television since then. With May not involved in any current storyline, she was heavily rumored to be WWE-bound. Last month, on 30th May, reports emerged about May allegedly getting removed from the AEW roster page and getting heavily linked to a WWE move. Fightful Select reported that May could be WWE-bound upon her contract’s expiration and later confirmed PWInsider‘s reports of such plans.

Now, almost a week later, the former AEW Women’s Champion has proved the reports and rumors correct. On the June 3rd episode of NXT, Mariah May made her debut amidst Jacy Jayne’s title win celebration from last week. As Jayne gloated about her win, she would be interrupted by Lola Vice, Jaida Parker, Jordynne Grace, Lash Legend, and many more.

However, as a brawl began amongst all the women present ringside, fans witnessed the lights go out. However, just a few seconds later, as the lights came back on, the indoor arena had already become glamorous.

Confronting Jayne from the balcony present in the arena, May made her intentions clear and set her sights on her next title pursuit.

“I have finally arrived! Ladies, you can call me the next NXT women’s champion. Because the best women’s division in the world just got a lot more glamorous.”

With no confirmed rivalry set for May now, fans wonder what is in store for the former AEW Women’s Champ.

When Did Mariah May Inform AEW About Her Not Signing A New Deal?

Earlier this year, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter opened up on Mariah May revealed to AEW about not signing a new deal.

“May hasn’t been on television since the Revolution PPV which was the blow-off of her feud with Toni Storm. I noted many times that I was surprised at doing that match at that time because it was such a hot feud and didn’t need a final blow-off after just three matches. Apparently May made it clear at that time that she was not signing a new deal and so they booked it at that time for that reason.”
