Mariah May has commented on the shocking conclusion to a recent episode of AEW Dynamite.
Defeating Willow Nightingale in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, May became the 3rd winner of the trophy and also received an extra prize as she will go on to challenge Toni Storm for the Women’s Championship at All In. Despite May being closely aligned with Storm ever since she became All Elite back in November, many fans expected the inevitable betrayal at some point. However, few would have expected what happened in the closing angle.
As May and Storm made their way up the ramp, the new number one contender struck the “Timeless” champion in the head with the custom championship and busted open her All In opponent. Dispatching Luther with a low blow and another title shot, May turned her attention back to Storm and in a cruel twist of irony attacked the champion with a high heel despite Storm warning people for months to always watch out for the shoe.
With Storm covered in blood, fans were legitimately shocked at what they saw as blood in the AEW women’s division is much rarer than in the men’s. While Storm was helped to the back in a video that was uploaded to social media after the show went off the air, May stayed silent.

Mariah May Vows To Destroy Toni Storm
Discussing the match and the violent aftermath with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, May was pleased with her performance in her first Dynamite main event and hopes that she will cross paths with Nightingale again soon:
“That was my first chance to main-event Dynamite”, said May. “Being in the ring with Willow, who has already achieved so much, was a great experience. I’d love to wrestle her again. Who knows, maybe when I’m world champion.”
Continuing, May addressed the assault on Storm and described it as a celebration, which she hopes will continue at Wembley Stadium, a few miles from her hometown:
“That felt like extra celebration for the work I did,” said May. “That’s what that was. “My mother will be there at All In,” said May. “She’ll watch me from the front row as I destroy what’s left of Toni Storm.”
