Maria Kanellis Shares Positive Health Update

Maria Kanellis Says Contract Is Expiring Soon, AEW Are Yet To Get In Touch

Maria Kanellis is seemingly out of danger now.

Earlier this year on October 24th, Kanellis underwent surgery for an adrenal gland mass. Kanellis went under the knife for a retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy for the mass on her adrenal gland.

After the surgery, her husband Mike Bennett shared an update. However, on 27th October, Kanellis had to be rushed back to the hospital again. With reported pain in her neck, spine, and head, Maria Kanellis later shared an update for her fans.

Now, after a couple of months, Kanellis dropped another update, seemingly sharing extremely positive news. While fearing cancer concerns from the previously found mass on her adrenal gland, the former WWE star reported that she was now cancer-free.

Talking on her social media, Kanellis said:

Hello, I wanted to give you guys an upstate,” Maria Kanellis said. “I know it’s been a little bit. It took a while for the pathology to get back, but I wanted to let you guys know that I am cancer-free. The tumor was not cancerous. We are so incredibly grateful and thankful to be moving into this holiday season cancer-free and to not have that worry. Thank you so much for all of the well wishes and the prayers. It did turn out to be an incredibly rare tumor.

Only three-to-eight people get it out of a million. It’s just a weird thing that happened. It affects your mood. It affects your metabolism. It affects your blood pressure, your heart rate. So we are very, very blessed to have found it as early as we did because it really can start causing problems in your body. So thank you so much, and I am looking forward, and I am really, really hopeful about the future.”

Hopefully, out of the danger zone now, Kanellis is on her recovery path now as fans await her television return.

We at Inside The Ropes wish Maria Kanellis a safe and steady recovery.

Is Maria Kanellis Still A Part Of AEW?

A part of AEW since 2022, Kanellis has performed both under the AEW and ROH brands. In 2023, Maria left The Kingdom and started managing the tag-team of Cole Karter and Griff Garrison in ROH. Earlier in October, Maria Kanellis shared an update on her All Elite Wrestling contract.

Hello, it’s been a little bit since I’ve checked in. We’re getting close to my surgery, and we’re within 20 days of it at this point. This week, I have an ultrasound, I have genetic testing, and I also am meeting with my surgeon to make a plan and hopefully start discussing what time of day we’ll be doing the surgery and if we’re going through the front or though the back. So I’m trying to not focus too much on that, and also my contract with AEW is coming up October 31st.

I’ve reached out to them to find out whether or not they are going to be signing me, but I haven’t really heard anything yet, so of course that is weighing on me as well. But because it’s that time of year where it’s spooky season, I’m trying to focus on that.

Today, I’m gonna work on some outdoor Halloween decorations because the rest of it, I can’t control right now. I can’t control, I can’t control the surgery. But what I can do is make some wonderful memories for my kids, so today, that is going to be my focus is making my kids happy.”
