Maria Kanellis has revealed that she would be open to making a return to IMPACT Wrestling if the opportunity presented itself.
In discussion with The DropKick podcast, Kanellis discussed exploring her options in and out of wrestling following her release from WWE in 2020. Maria and her husband Mike Bennett were among the raft of cuts WWE made in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, Mike Bennett has made his in-ring return to Ring of Honor where he had competed from 2008 to 2015. Kanellis has also announced she is fronting a fan engagement initiative for ROH known as ‘The Experience’ on social media.
However, Kanellis is open to exploring her options as far as the wrestling business is concerned:
“I’m open to anything, wrestling wise It’s not at the forefront of my mind. For Mike, that’s everything to him. That’s all he cares about is wrestling and being a really good professional wrestler. For me, if the opportunity were to come about like came about in IMPACT I would love that.”
Maria Kanellis competed in IMPACT Wrestling from 2016 to 2017. During that time Kanellis would win the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship from Allie. Kanellis would hold the title for 50 days before losing to rival and IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Famer Gail Kim.
Kanellis discussed the possibility of going to one wrestling promotion that she is yet to work in – All Elite Wrestling. Maria also revealed that she has a fan behind the announce table in the company.
