Malcolm Bivens Addresses WWE Release & Recent Rumours

Malcolm Bivens and Diamond Mine

Malcolm Bivens has addressed his release from WWE and discussed rumours that have swirled about the company’s plans for him.

On April 29th, Malcolm Bivens was released by WWE alongside Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, and seven other NXT Superstars.

While it was reported that the releases were due to budget cuts, it was also noted that Bivens, previously known as Stokely Hathaway, had no plans to re-sign with the company when his contract expired.

Now in a post-WWE comedy set that was partly shared on his social media, Malcolm Bivens has addressed the rumours surrounding his release and confirmed he did turn down a new deal but says he never heard about a speculated partnership with Omos:

“So here’s the truth. There’s a lot of rumors, a lot of speculation. Was I offered a contract in February? Yes. Did I say no to said contract? Yes.”

“Was I offered to be with Omos? No. No one said a word to me about managing Omos. Was I told about the main roster? Yes. People, they think I’m crazy. ‘Malcolm, you threw away millions potentially. You walked away!’ Yeah, I did, because I didn’t want to do it anymore.”

“Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy. At Stand & Deliver, I had a conversation with the head writer and I told him so. And then two weeks ago I said the same thing. ‘I don’t think this was for me.’ And that’s okay because your happiness isn’t dictated by what people say you should do. Happiness is dictated by what you think you should do. There’s a difference, right? It’s been an interesting few days, I’ll put it to you that way.”

Bivens then joked that he had been the talk of the locker room for deciding to walk away and hilariously took issue with NXT UK stars saying anything about him as he says Nick Khan forgot they exist:

“Julius [Creed, Bivens stablemate in Diamond Mine] told me I’m the talk of the [Performance Center]. They think I’m crazy too. All the people from the UK talking about ‘what’s wrong with the little black bloke? I heard he turned down his contract, does he have a drug problem or something?’ Shut the f*ck up!”

“You can’t talk sh*t about me just because Nick Khan forgot y’all exist. You ain’t better than me motherf*ckers. You not better than me.”
