Malakai Black’s AEW Future Revealed

Malakai Black sits in ring

Former AEW Trios Champion Malakai Black‘s future has now been revealed.

The former WWE star jumped brands and switched to AEW in 2021, and has been one of the promotion’s biggest names since then. Black has been a standout star in the promotion for the past few years and it might continue.

Nursing an injury, Black made his triumphant return last year and cemented his status as a key figure in the House of Black. The former NXT Champion was rumored to shorten his contract and leave Khan’s promotion after the latter’s comments to Busted Open Radio about Black’s contract situation in 2022:

Nearly five years left.

Earlier reports suggested a conditional release granted to Black, however, the latest update by PWInsider reports Black is under a contract with AEW through 2025.

Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews continue to dominate with their faction and fans can now enjoy the stable’s run for around one more year.

Malakai Black’s Partner Buddy Matthews Signs New Contract

As Black’s future with Khan’s promotion became more clear, another top star, Buddy Matthews chose to sign a new contract and extend his term with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Buddy Matthews was last seen competing on the June 16th episode Collision alongside Black and King, where the Trio were victorious over The Bang Bang Gang. He recently tied the knot with WWE superstar Rhea Ripley in an intimate ceremony.
