Malakai Black will make his AEW in-ring debut when he takes on Cody Rhodes on August 4th at Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida.
The man formerly known as Aleister Black in WWE arrived in AEW on July 7th in stunning style. The demonic Dutchman appeared from the darkness laying out Arn Anderson and then Cody Rhodes as he tended to his fallen mentor.
The following week, Rhodes called out Black, who responded with a promo of his own from an undisclosed location. However, as Rhodes challenged the new AEW star, the lights went out and Black appeared in the ring once more. Although this time officials rushed the ring keep the two men apart.
On night two of Fyter Fest it was announced that Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black will now attempt to settle their differences in the ring on August 4th.

Speaking in a new interview about his time in WWE, Black called the company out over it’s booking of RAW and SmackDown. The former NXT Champion said that while he enjoyed his time on the black and gold brand he “did nothing of importance” on the main roster adding that he got “sick” of WWE’s “bipolar 50-50 booking.”
Also announced for August 4th, Miro will defend his TNT Championship against an as yet unnamed opponent.
