Malakai Black Praises Sting For Unmatched Legacy

Malakai Black faces off with Sting

Malakai Black has reflected on working with Sting in AEW and praised the legacy he will leave when he retires.

With Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution fast approaching, many stars have been commenting on the career and legacy of one of professional wrestling’s biggest stars.

Black led his House of Black in a feud against Sting and Darby Allin back in 2022. The rivalry began with Black hitting The Icon with black mist at that year’s Fyter Fest in July. Over the following weeks, he showed the effects of the mist in his facepaint as the black began to grow over the white paint.

Things came to a head at All Out that September, with Sting and Allin teaming with Miro to defeat the House of Black. During the bout, the Stinger got revenge on Black when he sprayed his own mist on the star.

Looking back on the rivalry in an Instagram Story, Black says Sting’s decision to mirror his facepaint was “one of the coolest things” he had experienced in his career. He went on to open up about the star helping him during his time in AEW and congratulated him an an unmatched legacy.

“Sting wanting to tell a specific story with the mist and wanting to match his facepaint to Malakai’s was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in my career

“On a personal level Sting has helped me navigate several things and was never above lending a hand, giving advice or just generally be one of the nices people to be around. Here’s to a fantastic career and a legacy unmatched.”

Reflecting on that legacy, Sting has said he wants to be remembered for being “rock solid” every time he got in the ring.
