Maki Itoh has announced that she is returning to Japan after a whirlwind stay in the United States as part of All Elite Wrestling.

The ‘Cutest In The World’ took to social media to tell her legions of fans that she is returning to her native Japan. Itoh added in her unique way that she hoped to return to AEW at some point in the future.

Itoh tweeted:

“I’m going back to Japan! I can only speak Makiglish but everyone was kind and I was very happy”

“Do you want to see me again? I’m sorry, the next schedule has not been decided. But I hope we can meet again! Thank you f*ck you all #AEW”

Itoh’s relationship with AEW began when she was announced as part of the AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament. As part of the tournament that was held in Japan Itoh was defeated in the first round by eventual winner Ryo Mizunami.

Maki Itoh’s introduction to the AEW fans on social media was a sign of things to come with the Joshi star simply tweeting “Hello Motherf***ers.” This then gained her a new legion of fans including AEW EVP Cody Rhodes.

Itoh would make a surprise appearance at The Buy-In for AEW Revolution. Replacing Reba as Dr. Britt Baker’s tag team partner, Maki Itoh delighted the fans in attendance with her singing entrance. Itoh repeated the entrance in her only Dynamite match. The former ‘idol’ continued signing long after her music had stopped and a brawl had broken out. In that match, Itoh teamed with Baker and Nyla Rose in a losing effort against Hikaru Shida, Ryo Mizunami, and Thunder Rosa.

Thunder Rosa and Dr. Britt Baker will continue their feud into the St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of Dynamite. The two stars will compete in an Unsanctioned, Lights Out Match.
