Major WWE Name Considered For TNA Hall Of Fame, Why Was Induction Rejected?

A top star in WWE was under consideration for the TNA Hall of Fame and could have been inducted in the 2024 class had the recent events played out differently.

October 25th saw TNA present its biggest show of the year Bound For Glory. Much like WWE and WrestleMania, TNA held its annual Hall of Fame ceremony shortly before Bound For Glory with Rhino and Bob Ryder being recognised for their contributions to the company. According to a new report, two other names could have been inducted in Detroit.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, TNA original Monty Brown was under consideration for the honour, with Matt Hady confirming this and stating the reason was that no one could get in touch with Brown.

The other name pitched was one of the biggest stars in TNA who since went on to have success around the world, AJ Styles. Sapp adds that a Styles induction was broached to WWE, but they passed on the opportunity. While specifics were not mentioned, TNA sources speculated that Styles’s recent injury and the ongoing storyline were factors.

While at one point this seemed like an impossibility, the positive relationship between both companies has opened the door for more surprising appearances and collaborations moving forward. It should also be noted that during Ken Shamrock’s Hall of Fame induction, The Rock sent an induction message via video, meaning that talent associated with WWE has appeared in the past.

Iconic WWE Moment Recreated At Bound For Glory

The main event of Bound For Glory saw TLC match legends The Hardys compete in a Full Metal Mayhem match for maybe the last time in the hope of winning the Tag Team Championships. During the TNA match, an iconic WWE spot was recreated.
