Major WWE Moment “Didn’t Go As Planned”

Major WWE Moment

A major moment on WWE Raw did not go as planned according to a new report.

As announced ahead of time, Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman faced off in the main event of the September 30th episode of Raw. With both men leaving a path of destruction in the weeks leading up to the match, many expected carnage in the Last Monster Standing match.

While it was unknown what exactly would happen in the match, many predicted that the ring imploding once more would take place, which was only strengthened when a more basic ring was used for the broadcast.

With both Reed and Strowman crashing to the mat following a massive superplex, the ring did indeed collapse with all 4 corners becoming detached. However, as many pointed out online, it was not the most spectacular ring break compared to what fans have seen in the past. According to a new report, those backstage in WWE were also underwhelmed.

Appearing on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, WrestleVotes noted that although Strowman and Reed put on a great performance in the match, many expected more from the ring break:

“This is specifically talking about the broken ring spot. Let’s just say it didn’t go as planned. They didn’t like the way it came off. They loved the performance of both those guys, the match itself was well praised, I mean the crowd was electric. I just think the actual spot of the ring breaking didn’t have the impact that it has had in the past, a lot of people expected it. I did have a source who was there last night, the internal reaction instantly was ‘Oof, not as big as we would have hoped.’ I don’t know if it was a mechanical thing or just the impact that it made,”

WWE Ring Collapsing Spot “Most Predictable” In Company History

Continuing, WrestleVotes added that the predictability also played into the issue:

“To give a little more colour into what my source was referencing, this was probably the most predictable ring collapsing spot they’ve ever done. So when you know it’s coming and it’s still not great, therein lies the problem. But not taking anything away from the performance.”

24 hours later, WWE had a successful night in Chicago with its debut edition of NXT on the CW Network.
