From the moment that Vince McMahon declared his intention to return to WWE, there have been rumours that a return to television could and would follow.
This speculation went into overdrive when McMahon not only secured his return to the Board of Directors but was elected Executive Chairman. While the man himself said that he was only returning to help sell the company, others aren’t so sure.
On January 13th Triple H held a talent meeting where he assured the roster that McMahon wasn’t involved in creative. But he did concede that he talks to his father-in-law about the subject.
Vince McMahon Preparing For TV Return?
It has now been reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon is back working at the office. Furthermore, there’s a growing feeling that he wants to return to television. Meltzer adds that McMahon is already talking about things “other than the sale” and if he wants to return to TV, he’ll make it happen.
“Vince is at the office, he hasn’t been to TV yet, but I say probably ‘yet.’ I mean, when is he gonna go on TV? I don’t know, there’s certainly rumours running around that he will. I’ve asked people and they wouldn’t be surprised, but it’s not like there’s a date.
It’s not like he’s gonna be on a week from today, or he’s gonna be at the Rumble, you know, who knows? But there’s that feeling that Vince is gonna wanna go out on TV and he’ll get the big reaction when he does. He is in the office, he is talking about things other than the sale and I think there’ll be more and more Vince fingerprints as time goes on, as far as creative goes it just depends on — who knows, who knows. If Vince wants it, he’ll work to get it. He may do it slowly, I don’t know.”
Despite the controversy around McMahon, Ric Flair recently stated that he was happy that he is happy he is back and said that he should appear on television at the 30th anniversary Raw show.
