Major Update On Talks Between WWE And Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt as The Fiend WWE

With the former Bray Wyatt remaining a free agent, a new report has shed additional light on the status of talks between him and WWE.

Windham Rotunda, the former Bray Wyatt, has been a free agent since being let go from WWE on 31 July 2021. Although interest has been shown in him from both WWE and a handful of other intrigued parties, ‘The Eater of Worlds’ hasn’t signed a contract as of yet.

Writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer updated readers on the status of talks between Wyatt and WWE, which are seemingly still up in the air:

“Regarding talk of Wyatt returning, there were definitely talks in that direction. At one point the talks stalled but it was said it was not a dead issue. Talks with him outside WWE had also stalled in the past, as his asking price was well above what other companies were willing to pay. When he was last in WWE, the belief was that behind [Roman] Reigns and [Brock] Lesnar, that the tier of he, [Randy] Orton, and [Ronda] Rousey were the highest paid pro wrestlers in the world.”

Bray Wyatt was reportedly uninterested in joining IMPACT Wrestling, though it’s believed he’d at least had talks with AEW. Control Your Narrative’s EC3 has also gone on record to say he was interested in bringing in Bray.

Dave Meltzer wrote in the same newsletter that more surprise WWE returns were to be expected moving forward, following Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque bringing back the likes of Johnny Gargano, Braun Strowman, and Dakota Kai.

Signed to WWE for 12 years, Bray Wyatt was a former WWE and Universal Champion, and found success under the guise of The Fiend. Ultimately, though, WWE failed to make proper use of one of their most charismatic performers in recent times.
