Major Update On Seth Rollins Vs. CM Punk Amidst Injury Reports

CM Punk:

The highly anticipated WrestleMania match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk has been cast into doubt following the World Heavyweight Champions’ recent knee injury.

During his successful defence of the title against Jinder Mahal on January 15th, Rollins seemed to injure his knee, which has since been reported to be a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus. However, the full extent of the injury and if it will require surgery is not confirmed at this time.

Rollins has since been removed from upcoming live events and WWE has confirmed that he will address the fans on his future in the opening segment of the January 22nd edition of Monday Night Raw.

The possible injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for Rollins as it seems highly probable that he is headed for a WrestleMania main event against CM Punk.

Is WWE still planning to do Seth Rollins vs CM Punk at WrestleMania?

Yet, despite the injury speculation Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, stated that the promotion still have the match within their plans. But, he also noted it could be pulled depending on the significance of the injury.

Seth Rollins and Punk are still scheduled for WrestleMania. As far as that could change? Yes. I was told yes, it could change, but it’s up in the air. But right now, he’s still on WrestleMania. I heard yesterday he was pulled from some house shows. And whatever, how long to be determined. But it’s a significant injury, but we don’t know how significant, I mean, as far as, like, how long we’ll be out right now. But, yeah, so that’s the basic gist of it.

And decisions will have to be made. If it’s a month thing, though, they should probably just go with their plans. If it’s, you know, going to be two months or more, I mean, you could always do an interim if it’s going to be a couple of months. Or you could just stip him, which they’ve done many times before, and change plans. h/t to WrestlingNews.co
