Following on from the shock announcement that Paige will be leaving WWE, the former Divas Champion has given more details on her departure.
The Anti-Diva acknowledged that her neck injury made it “pretty hard” for WWE to keep her under contract for as long as they did. She’s been officially inactive since retiring the night after WrestleMania 34, although she hadn’t wrestled since the prior December.

Speaking on a Twitch stream following the announcement, Paige spoke of her appreciation for everything WWE had done for her during her time there.
“I’m appreciative of WWE. I really am. They helped me so much they got me a therapist when I had drinking and alcohol issues. They kept me a long time even after my neck surgery, sitting on my ass. I felt like I had so much left to give there as someone who can cut a decent promo and do a managerial role. It is what it is.”
When asked a question about her health, Paige said she was the healthiest she had been in her career and, although she admitted she has not been cleared yet, believes she can compete again.
“I feel like I can compete again, yeah. 1000%”
Discussing whether she would join another wrestling promotion, the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion said she would, “if the money is right”.
Touching on whether she was subject to a no-compete clause, Paige explained that, since her contract was coming to an end rather than being released early, that won’t be the case.
“If you don’t re-sign, that normally means you don’t have a no-compete”
