When is WWE heading to Australia again?
Earlier this year in February 2024, the Stamford-based promotion hosted the Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia. The event marked a successful PLE with several top stars appearing at the show, and hometown girl Rhea Ripley winning in the main event.
Now, the promotion is again rumored to return to the country down under in the latter half of 2025 for another event. A report by The Sunday Times/West Australian noted that World Wrestling Entertainment and the Cook Government are ‘negotiating’ for a return to Perth in 2025. It further stated that the Government is ‘tight-lipped’ about the details of the matter.
Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti shared:
We’re constantly pursuing these types of unique and exclusive events that attract visitors to our beautiful State, particularly ones that we know are incredibly popular like UFC and WWE.”
It is still unsure if the promotion is set to host a PLE or something else. Elimination Chamber 2024 this year featured Australian stars Nia Jax, Rhea Ripley, and Grayson Waller in important segments.
In almost two weeks, the Stamford-based promotion is set to visit Saudi Arabia for their planned International PLE on Saturday, November 2 in Riyadh.
What Is Planned For WWE Crown Jewel In Saudi Arabia?
As part of the ‘big-money’ deal between Saudi Arabia and WWE, the promotion is set to host two events annually in the Middle Eastern country. The current contract between the wrestling promotion and Saudi Arabia is set to run until 2027, with two shows per year.
The upcoming Crown Jewel has two finalized matches in the ‘Champion vs Champion’ battles, where Cody Rhodes will go up against Gunther, while Nia Jax is set to compete against Liv Morgan in a similar match. The victors of both matches will earn the Crown Jewel Championship.
In other news: Several former writers at the Stamford-based promotion have opened up on the hostile work environment under Vince McMahon.
