A new report has provided fresh information surrounding Goldberg’s WWE future admits reports he had signed a new contract earlier this year.
Goldberg Has Not Re-Signed With The WWE.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, those close to Goldberg including his representatives have dismissed recent reports that he has re-signed with the WWE on a two-year five match deal and instead that he is currently at the end of his contract that ran through 2022 but with zero matches left on the contract meaning that fans shouldn’t expect to see Goldberg back in a WWE ring anytime soon.
Goldberg’s representatives has stated that the initial reports, claiming that Goldberg had a two year, five match deal with a focus on Saudi Arabian shows and WrestleMania events with three matches set to be against younger talent, are reputedly ‘news to them’ despite them being part of the team that would negotiate these deals for the 55-year-old.
Fightful would note that it is very possible that Goldberg will re-sign a deal with WWE in 2023, however current reports appear to be false and that no current deal has been signed.
Goldberg last wrestled for the WWE back in February at the 2022 Elimination Chamber PPV in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he would lose to Unified WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns via referee’s decision in just six-minutes.
Prior to this Goldberg would take on Bobby Lashley in a series of matches throughout 2021 ending with the former WCW Champion getting the better of the former WWE Champion in a No Holds Barred match at WWE Crown Jewel 2021.
