A major update has emerged regarding the future of these former AEW Champions.

Earlier last year, during an episode of Dynamite, Private Party defeated The Young Bucks to earn their first championship victory after five years in the promotion. Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen were able to keep the EVPs down for the three count after a hard-fought close encounter.

However, after a short reign of nearly two months, the duo lost their championship to Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate on the 22nd January episode of Dynamite. Since then, they have not been seen on television.

While fans speculated about their future, a new update has emerged. Fightful Select recently confirmed that the duo is currently in their contract year, and while they had generated some interest from WWE earlier in June, the promotion has not yet approached either of the team members for a new contract.

The news about how close they were to finishing up their contract was first reported by Dave Meltzer’s WON.

A Former AEW Star Had Heaped Praise On Private Party Following Their Tag-Titles Victory

Last year, after Private Party won their inaugural tag-team championships, former All Elite wrestling star Matt Hardy appeared on his ‘The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy’, and heaped praise on the brothers.

“I was pretty positive they were gonna win from speaking to them. In pro wrestling though, it is never official until it actually happens and it goes down in real time. That was great, I know I made a quick post about them and I even acknowledged how it cool it was that we had just won the TNA tag team titles and they won the AEW tag team titles. Very very cool, all of Hardy party is strapped up now with a little bit of gold on the shoulder.”
