Major Update On Bayley’s WWE Return

Bayley on the mic

A new report has offered an update on when Bayley could be heading back to WWE television.

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has been out of action since early July 2021. At the time, the star was wrapped up in a feud with Bianca Belair who was holding the blue brand’s title, having won it at WrestleMania 37 from Sasha Banks.

Heading into Money In The Bank, Bayley had been set to meet Belair in an “I Quit” match, but sustained an injury during a training session. It was later reported that the former NXT star had sustained a torn ACL while performing a chain wrestling drill.

At the time it was suggested that Bayley would be out of action for around nine months, a timescale which would see her return to action in April. With WrestleMania 38 taking place on April 2nd and 3rd, some fans have wondered whether they could see the former favourite return on the biggest stage possible.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now reported that current plans call for Bayley to return to television regularly after WrestleMania. However, that seemingly doesn’t rule out a potential appearance at the event.

Bayley signed with WWE in late 2012, making her NXT debut in January of the following year. She would later become known as one of the Four Horsewoman of WWE alongside Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

While appearing on the black and gold brand, Bayley featured in a number of acclaimed matches including a match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015, where she defeated Sasha Banks to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

The star arrived on the main roster the following year, going on to become WWE’s first Women’s Triple Crown Champion. Alongside Banks, The Role Model become one half of the first ever Women’s Tag Team Champions in 2019.
