Cash Wheeler’s legal case has finally concluded.
Back in August 2023, news broke that the AEW star had been arrested due to aggravated assault with a firearm. It was later revealed that the incident that led to the arrest was a bout of road rage that saw the former Tag Team Champion allegedly “flash a gun” at the other party, whom he did not know prior to the incident.
A few hours after the story broke, footage of Cash Wheeler’s arraignment surfaced online which saw the AEW star being ordered to pay a $2,500 bond, not have any contact with the other party and surrender all firearms he was in possession of. Wheeler’s attorney also argued that the AEW star had no prior criminal history before this, which the judge took into account.
Despite there being fears that the incident may affect his chances at appearing at the inaugural All In show in the UK later that month, Wheeler did appear on the show and defeated The Young Bucks alongside Dax Harwood.
Although it appeared that the case had been closed, a new update in February 2024 stated that a decision had been made to move forward with the charges and that Wheeler was set for a trial in May. However, in a new update, there will no longer be a trial.
As reported by PWInsider, the prosecutor’s office has filed “Nolle Prosequi”, meaning that the prosecution has elected to voluntarily end the case. There has been no update as to why this decision was made. Additionally, Wheeler will have no legal issues as a result of the situation.
