There has been a major update regarding multiple legal battles surrounding Tony Khan and AEW.
As of this writing, Tony Khan and AEW are facing several legal battles. The two biggest ones feature former employees, Kevin Kelly and the Tate Twins. Kelly, alongside Brandon and Brent Tate, filed a lawsuit against the Jacksonville-based promotion for breach of contract and defamation.
News of their lawsuit first came out in September 2024 and was filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Trial Division. The allegations, as mentioned earlier, had to do with breach of contract, misclassification of an employee as a contract worker, and defamation.
Now, an update from Brandon Thurston of Post Wrestling has confirmed that the case has been moved to arbitration. According to the report, Florida-based federal judge, Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger, has ordered Kelly and the Tate Twins to resolve their claims against Tony Khan and AEW through arbitration.
The order was issued on Wednesday and granted the company’s motion to compel arbitration, but denied their motion for dismissal.

It will be interesting to see if an agreement between the two parties can be reached in arbitration, and if not, what will happen with the lawsuit going forward.
Tony Khan and AEW recently hosted a successful Summer Blockbuster
Last night was a big one for Tony Khan and AEW, as they hosted Summer Blockbuster. The four-hour special was a huge success and saw several top performers in action. The night began with an epic match between Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland that ended with a draw.
What followed, were several great matches and segments, including the contract signing between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada for All In 2025. All in all, it was a great episode, and one that set the tone for several of the company’s upcoming shows.
