A surprising major title change was originally, and could still be, in the plans for AEW All In!
AEW All In 2024 could very well serve as the final chapter in the legendary career of Bryan Danielson. The American Dragon is set to put his career on the line in the show’s main event where he’ll challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship.
The match’s title vs career stipulation has led to much speculation about Danielson’s in-ring future, especially as the 43-year-old has repeatedly stated that 2024 will be his final year as a full-time professional wrestler.
Now, a new report has stoked those fires even further. Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that Danielson was set to dethrone Strickland in the original plans for the bout. However, it’s unknown if these plans remain the same or have since undergone changes.
That’s the logical thing [Bryan Danielson winning the AEW World Championship]. I mean, put it this way: When I was originally told the scenario, and this was months and months ago, it was Danielson winning then.
Bryan Danielson Isn’t 100% Healthy Heading Into AEW All In
Ahead of his Wembley Stadium debut this weekend, Bryan Danielson admitted in an interview with Bleacher Report that his body isn’t 100% healthy heading into the match.
The American Dragon bluntly stated that his neck is “trashed” and causes him a moderate amount of pain but he doesn’t believe it will affect his performance against the AEW World Champion at All In.
