Adam Cole has been pulled from tonight’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV after suffering an undisclosed illness, as a result his scheduled match against Tom Lawlor has been cancelled.
Tony Khan would announce the devastating news via Twitter, noting that no replacement for Cole will be scheduled and that he thanks fans for their support during what is sure to be an amazing show.
“Due to illness, Adam Cole isn’t cleared tonight, therefore the Adam Cole vs Tom Lawlor match is canceled. Despite the change, tonight will be an amazing show! Thank you to everyone watching #ForbiddenDoor, either here live in Toronto Scotiabank Arena or on ppv tonight!”
No information is available at this time as to the nature of Cole’s illness or how long he will be out of action, but Inside The Ropes will look to update you as soon as more information becomes available.
The scheduled match was set to see former MLW star Tom Lawlor make his AEW debut, taking on Adam Cole on behalf of current AEW Champion MJW.
MJF’s scheduled AEW Championship defence against Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to open tonight’s blockbuster PPV event.
