Major Randy Orton Update Ahead Of WWE WrestleMania 39

Randy Orton

Randy Orton hasn’t been seen on WWE television since he and partner Matt Riddle lost their Raw Tag Team Championships in a unification match against The Usos on the May 20th episode of SmackDown.

After the match, Orton and Riddle were beaten down by The Bloodline and the former World Champion disappeared from television afterward. Details around Orton’s absence remained thin on the ground but it was reported that he was struggling with a back injury that had been progressively worse.

In November, it was reported that The Viper had undergone fusion surgery on his lower back which would leave him unable to return to the ring for an “extended period”. His father, Bob Orton, later provided an update saying his son was “coming along.”

With WrestleMania season fast approaching, Orton’s name is nowhere to be seen on WWE‘s advertising for the event, but fans have begun to wonder if he could make a surprise return on the Grandest Stage of Them All, particularly as he looks to be in incredible shape amidst his absence from the company.

Will Randy Orton Be A Part Of WrestleMania 39?

Now, a new report from PWInsider Elite reveals that Orton is indeed scheduled to be in Los Angeles for WrestleMania weekend. There is no information as to whether or not he’ll appear on camera at either ‘Mania or on Raw the night after, but he will be brought into town for wrestling’s biggest weekend. There was also mention of a previous report that Orton’s name has been a source of recent discussion internally, and this new information seems to line up with that.

It remains to be seen whether Orton will be medically cleared to return to competition, but WrestleMania weekend would be a great opportunity to set up a new feud if his injuries have healed sufficiently.
