The changes to NXT are coming thick and fast with NXT 2.0 set to debut on September 14th but a planned huge match for the event is now seemingly off the show.
Franky Monet was set to face off with Big Mami Cool Raquel Gonzalez on this week’s edition of NXT on the USA Network but according to a new report that is no longer the case.
Fightful Select is reporting that the match between Monet and Gonzalez will now not take place on Tuesday’s live edition of NXT. There has not been a reason given for the change of card but the company knew of the change by Monday morning. There is also no word if either Franky Monet or NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez will even appear on the show.
A new report from PWInsider also looks at the status of Samoa Joe after he had to relinquish the NXT Championship due to injury.
That report also delves into the feeling within the locker room ahead of the NXT 2.0 show. There is said to be a lot of “trepidation” among talent after the recent releases from the company. There is said to be a feeling that some of the names released “did everything they were supposed to” and were “great talents” and despite that, were still let go. Some talents are reported to be feeling “on thin ice,” especially as what was once thought of as “the protective cocoon” of Paul Levesque [Triple H] is no longer there. It was reported that Levesque had found out about the most recent NXT releases when the news was made public.
Paul Levesque will not be at the rebirth of NXT due to his own recent medical procedure. Some talents are said to be unsure whether it will be Levesque’s usual team running production or if others from within the company will be stepping in.
