Major Name Being Discussed for Surprise Appearance At WWE Royal Rumble

A major name is being discussed to make an appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble.

With just a few days to go until the popular event returns, plans are being finalised for the two Royal Rumble matches. Along with the entry order and who will emerge as the eventual winner in each match, there is also the booking of surprise entrants for the Premium Live Event.

Along with stars from NXT making a cameo appearance and the possibility of members of the TNA roster entering the match, fans are hoping that a few legends and Hall of Famers could also provide a hit of nostalgia. According to a new report, one of the all-time greats could be set to make an appearance.

Speaking about the Royal Rumble on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass podcast, Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has been discussed for an appearance at the event:

“I know it’s been discussed. I know she will be in Indianapolis, I know WWE is bringing her in. I don’t know specifically if it is for a Rumble appearance but I know it’s been discussed. There’s only so many women’s legends they can call on, especially those that can still do it, and she’s one of them. So if she’s willing and they’re willing, I’d say better than a good shot she’s there.”

Stratus was the number 30 entrant in the first Women’s Royal Rumble match back in 2018. The former Women’s Champion has not appeared in any Rumbles since but has previously stated that she is looking to do something to mark 25 years since her WWE debut.

Stratus will be in Indianapolis the day before the show as part of an official WWE meet and greet.
