Major Change Announced For WWE Raw Ahead Of Netflix Move

WWE Raw is set to alter its format from its long-standing three-hour duration to a two-hour weekly schedule.

This change comes as the show prepares to transition from the USA Network to Netflix in January. The announcement was made on X during the season premiere of WWE Raw on Monday night, though the reasons behind the format change remain undisclosed.

The new format will take effect starting with the October 7th episode of Raw, immediately following WWE’s Bad Blood premium live event. This adjustment will continue through the December 30th episode, marking the show’s final broadcast on USA Network.

During this period, Raw will air from 8 pm to 10 pm EST. Notably, this shift means that the Monday night 10 pm EST television block will be free of wrestling programming for the first time in decades. Historically, the two-hour format of Raw began at 9 pm EST for much of its run, making this a notable change in WWE’s programming schedule.

As WWE fans anticipate the move to Netflix, questions remain about the future format of Raw. It is unclear whether Netflix will maintain the two-hour runtime, revert to the three-hour format, or introduce a new structure altogether.

Meanwhile, USA Network recently acquired SmackDown, but there are no plans to alter the blue brand’s runtime. Similarly, NXT is preparing for its own move to The CW Network, with no changes announced to its schedule.

Which Former Champion Did Drew McIntyre Send To Hospital On WWE Raw?

Drew McIntyre sent CM Punk out on a stretcher and to hospital in an ambulance following a vicious attack on the former champion on the September 2nd episode of WWE Raw. McIntyre hit Punk with multiple Claymore kicks and a barrage of punches leaving him bloody and helpless.

In recent news, it was reported that WWE Raw will not be ad-free when it moves to Netflix.
