Major AEW Star Wants To Work With John Cena “At Some Point In His Career”

John Cena WWE

John Cena’s ongoing farewell tour in the professional wrestling scene is set to culminate in December. He will retire the Jorts and continue life outside the business as an actor and entertainer. Cena has reiterated that once the jorts are retired, there is no reverting. He will be seen wearing a suit and tie.

Now, a major AEW star has expressed a desire to work with Cena. How is that going to happen when the wrestler-turned-actor will be gone for good come December, you ask? Well, the mystery man was not talking about stepping in the ring with The Last Real Champion.

MJF Wants to Collaborate With John Cena on the Silver Screen

Speaking to “TV Insider,” MJF revealed that he desires to branch out into acting. This is when he brought up WWE behemoths like Cena and Dave Batista.

He also gave a shoutout to actor and wrestler, Paul Walter Hauser, calling his friend one of the best actors in the world. While the former AEW World Champion admitted there is a part of him that wishes to work with Cena in a wrestling capacity, perhaps he is well aware of the inevitable situation later this year.

“Obviously. I want to work with John Cena at some point in my career,” MJF revealed. “That would mean an awful lot to me. Whether that is inside the wrestling bubble or outside the wrestling bubble. That’s the first name that comes to mind for sure. I would say I have to throw Dave Bautista on that list too. Also, my good buddy Paul Walter Hauser. I think he is one of the best actors in the world. To be involved in a project with him would be an awful lot.”

When John Cena and MJF met at The Iron Claw premiere in late 2023, The Last Real Champion told the AEW star that he hoped one day, the latter would play for “the right team.” MJF also articulated his version of their interaction that night, praising Cena, Batista, and even The Rock, and crediting them for paving the way for other wrestlers who wish to transition into acting.
