The main event of John Cena’s final SmackDown has been revealed.
Currently in a high-impact feud against Brock Lesnar, Cena is set to appear tonight in his final SmackDown episode as an active performer. The September 5 episode in Chicago is also rumored to have Brock Lesnar and AJ Lee on the show, alongside another major star.
Last week on RAW, fans saw Becky Lynch launch a barrage of slaps on CM Punk, which prompted him to tease Lee’s return. While not confirmed, a recent update from Cory Hays and PWInsider noted that ‘The Man’ was set to appear tonight in the blue brand’s main-event segment to close the show.
With Lesnar also allegedly appearing on the show, Lynch’s main-event status fueled the rumors of the former Divas Champion’s much-awaited return. Married to CM Punk, AJ Lee, and the Second City Saint are expected to tag along and face the duo of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at WrestlePalooza on September 20.

With just a handful of appearances left before his final WWE showing, the Stamford-based promotion has now revealed the complete details of Cena’s remaining appearances. Unfortunately, there is some bad news for Cena’s hometown fans.

• RAW in Springfield, MA — September 15 • WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis, IN — September 20
• Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia — October 11
• RAW in Boston, MA — November 10
• RAW in NYC (at MSG) — November 17
• Survivor Series in San Diego, CA — November 29
• Retirement Match at SNME — December 13
The Leader of Cenation is also expected to face Sami Zayn tonight on the September 5 episode of SmackDown, as a tribute to his own US Title open challenge against Zayn almost a decade ago.
