WWE Raw has not been kind to The Miz in recent weeks.
At the 30th anniversary special of the red brand, Miz took to the ring to express his unhappiness at seemingly being overlooked for a spot on the show. Just as his rant was in full flow, the star was interrupted by Kevin Owens who laid him out with a Stunner.
Fast forward seven days and Miz was back in the ring, microphone in hand to complain about being attacked by Owens and his bad luck at being drawn so early in the Royal Rumble match.
This time the star was interrupted by Adam Pearce. The WWE official said that he was fed up of hearing Miz making excuses and introduced Rick Boogs. The former SmackDown star had been absent since April 2022 due to a serious injury.
Boogs (minus the guitar) made his way to the ring as Pearce made the match official, despite Miz being in a “$10,000 suit that his wife bought him.” Once the match began, Boogs made short work of the former World Champion, quickly claiming the win.
Rick Boogs Makes Shock Appearance On WWE Raw Following Injury
In the opening match of night one of WrestleMania 38, Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura took on The Usos with the SmackDown Tag Team Titles on the line.
During the bout, Boogs got both Jimmy and Jey into a fireman’s carry position before his knee buckled and he collapsed to the canvas. It was immediately clear that Boogs was unable to continue and the match was swiftly brought to a close.
After the match, the SmackDown star had to be carried backstage and it was revealed later that he would need to undergo surgery for a torn quadricep.
