YouTuber Logan Paul and Dwayne Johnson were once friendly and filmed several videos together in 2017. However, in early 2018 Paul was asked to delete all traces of his friendship with Johnson.
This was a result of the Youtuber turned boxer visiting Aokigahara, a forest near the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan known as the “suicide forest” and sharing a now-deleted video that featured several scenes of Paul and his entourage standing around a dead body they came across.
Dwayne Johnson Asked For Proof Of Their Friendship To Be Removed
During an appearance on the True Geordie Podcast, Logan Paul detailed when he was asked to have nothing to do with his idol, The Rock:
“After Japan happened, obviously found myself in a hole, rightfully so, that I had never been in before,[I was] extremely low mentally.
I got a call from my publicist who also repped Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and she’s like, ‘Hey Dwayne’s asked that you remove every picture and video that you’ve done with him. Maybe in the future the relationship can be reconciled but for now he basically wants nothing to do with you,’ which I also understood.”
Paul continued, explaining he was hurt and vowed to change for the better:
“I get it. You know, I made a grotesque error and he has had things happen in his life where like a lot of people that incident affected him in a personal way. So I understood it and that was the other part – you sleep in the bed you make, right?
But I just wish I’d gotten like a call or a text or something because I thought we had a healthy relationship, an open line of communication. And I was so sad that my hero wanted nothing to do with me. And I was sad because I understood it, I really f***ed up.
I was so disappointed in myself, and so I vowed to get better, I vowed to change, time passed, I start doing well… I just wanted to be able to build a relationship with Dwayne that didn’t end up happening.”
In recent years, Logan Paul has looked to rebuild his reputation and has even followed in the footsteps of Dwayne Johnson by entering the squared circle in WWE. The star made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38, teaming with The Miz to defeat Rey & Dominik Mysterio.
He later competed against The Miz in singles competition at SummerSlam. Paul was also victorious on that occasion and his impressive in-ring performances received plaudits from many.
At a press conference in Las Vegas on September 17, it was announced that Logan Paul will take on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on November 5th at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
