At WrestleMania 39, Logan Paul took on Seth Rollins in a barnburner that marks the end of the YouTube star’s current contract with WWE.
Paul made his entrance in grand style, flying down to the ring on a zipline in a scene reminiscent of Shawn Michaels‘ iconic WrestleMania 12 entrance. Once he was on the ground, he was joined by a life-sized mascot for his PRIME energy drink which stayed at ringside throughout the bout.
However, when Seth Rollins was on the outside, it was revealed that none other than KSI was inside the costume, helping co-promote the energy drink he shares with Paul.
KSI attempted to help Paul pick up the victory, but as Paul took a large drink of PRIME to spit into the air, Rollins switched places with KSI on the announce table and Paul splashed his business partner by accident.
From there, Rollins had the momentum and eventually put Paul away after catching him off the top rope with a Superkick followed by a Stomp.
Logan Paul has “no job” after WrestleMania 39
Following the loss, Paul spoke to Cathy Kelley backstage, saying there was a point where he thought it was his “worst birthday ever” because, as well as losing and accidentally attacking his business partner, his contract had also ended.
“At one point, I thought this was the worst birthday ever. It was a moment in time where I ended my rookie year on an embarrassing loss to Seth Rollins in front of 80,000 people at SoFi Stadium, I accidentally frog-splashed my business partner KSI through a table and I currently have no job because my contract ended. It’s not ideal, but I feel pretty good right now.”
When asked where he will go from here, Paul joked that he was off to Dave & Busters.
“I’m going to Dave & Busters. I love Dave & Busters. My power card is full of points and I’m saving up for a drone.”
This isn’t the first time that Paul has spoken about his contract situation. He noted in a recent interview that he thinks it would be “silly” for WWE not to renew it.
