Ahead of his clash with Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel, Logan Paul has been putting in the hours in the gym. To date, Paul has only wrestled in WWE twice, meaning that he is playing catch up to a spectacular degree when it comes to experience.
However, Paul recently recruited a WWE legend in his bid to overthrow the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Images appeared on social media on October 20th featuring Paul training with none other than Shawn Michaels. Not that Roman Reigns was too impressed, commenting that he hopes for Paul’s own sake that he will be training with God next week.
Logan Paul Asked To Work With Shawn Michaels
Speaking on a media call ahead of NXT Halloween Havoc, Shawn Michaels has now revealed that Logan Paul was the one who asked to work with him. The former World Champion was full of praise for the star as he broke down his progress.
“Working with him really was fun. he’s a bright kid. I didn’t know him, clearly, I’m whatever. I’m a square. Obviously, I know of him. I saw what he did at Mania and you told tell he was clearly committed. I know the stuff he’s done in the past with the boxing. When he jumps into something, he’s going to go all in and he works really hard. I was curious to see how much time and effort he was putting into this.
He requested this, I jumped at the opportunity because I was curious. He’s getting it, he really is. He’s a nice kid, clearly he’s bright. He does work really hard. He’s got a big platform, so he comes in at a certain spot that none of our young talent is going to come in at.
You have to put the cart before the horse with somebody like him. He’s in this match at WrestleMania, so you kind of just maybe train him for what he’s going to do there at that one match. That’s one of the things he and I talked about yesterday. ‘While you’re doing this, we have to go back and make sure we teach you some of those foundational and fundamental principles that will better link all of this stuff together.’
With his popularity, they kind of started him five years down the road, but he’s still in the first six months training-wise. That’s one of the things I felt, if we could go back and treat him and teach him some of the fundamentals, it would help him understand at a better level how you link all those other pieces that he’s learning together. I found him to be a very bright kid, nice guy, he has a great crew around him. They seem to be good boys. It was a lot of fun and getting to be the cool kid in class was cool.”
During an interview of his own, Logan Paul recently admitted that while the in-ring physicality of WWE comes “easy” to him, he’s struggled with cutting promos.
